Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung personally handed over this important document to investors. With a total investment capital of over 1.3 billion USD, the project makes an important contribution to the next investment mark of AES Group in Vietnam.
Not only the Son My LNG Terminal Project, many cooperation agreements were awarded during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to the US. For example, PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power) and GE Group signed an agreement on investment cooperation to improve operational efficiency of Nhon Trach 1 Power Plant; or Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and Casa System Group cooperate to invest in the field of 5G network…
Along with the signed agreements, there will be funds to be invested in Vietnam. And certainly, the numbers will continue to increase in the coming time, as investment and expansion plans in Vietnam continue to be shared by major US corporations with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
If Warburg Pincus – one of the oldest and largest private investment funds globally, is interested in Vietnam’s banking sector, after having poured about 2 billion USD to invest in a series of projects , including the $4 billion Ho Tram Strip Project in Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Boeing Corporation expressed its desire to participate in developing Vietnam’s aviation ecosystem.
Meanwhile, according to Mr. Roger Jenkins, General Director of Murphy Oil, the Group has invested about 300 million USD in prospecting and exploration in Vietnam and is operating oil and gas blocks in Cuu Long and Phu Khanh basins. . A larger plan, with a scale of 700 million USD, is being actively implemented to develop the Golden Camel Project (Cuu Long Basin) with a total investment of 700 million USD.
Similarly, shares from Google, Qualcomm, Abbott, Chevron, GE, Blackstone, GenX… all confirmed their interest in the Vietnamese market.
Expectation of long-term strategic cooperation
Cooperation agreements and investment projects have been signed, but Minister Nguyen Chi Dung’s desire is perhaps even greater than that. At the roundtable on investment cooperation between Vietnam and the United States, organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment in collaboration with The Asia Group have plans to expand investment in Vietnam, such as Google, UPS, Blackstone, GGV Capital, Ford Motors, GE, Gen X Energy, Samsung, Boeing… Investors expressed their desire to invest in these fields. such as renewable energy, electric vehicles, infrastructure construction, electricity – electronics, high technology, environment – society…
